John Muir Trail, August 2005

Day 9:
Upper Bear Creek Meadow to Piute Creek, over Selden Pass.
14 Miles.

This day was highlighted by a spectacular morning climb up the pass.
The South Fork San Joaquin and Piute Creek were two of the rivers that had the highest flow of the entire trip. Camping at their confluence was not as quiet as it could have been.

Rosemarie Meadow in the morning, a better place to camp than Upper Bear Creek. 09-01-rose

Marie Lake. Selden Pass is the low notch on the right (the easiest pass of the entire trail). 09-02-marie
